Fun Museums for the Child in all of Us

If you are bringing young ones on your visit to San Francisco, you’ve probably wracked your brain trying to find activities and events that will not only be fun for them but also provide much needed mental stimuli as well. Well, look no further. I have five museums that are guaranteed to be completely kid friendly and fun for the entire family.

Gone are the days of stuffy museums that are cold and unfeeling. These museums of old have been replaced with modern day museums that offer areas that encourage hands on activities and promote learning and education through activities that are well disguised as fun. Your children will have no idea what just happened and you will be able to rest comfortable in the knowledge that this event that they considered so much fun will remain with them for a long time to come. Knowledge is a great gift to pass on to your children, especially when they don’t realize what it is that you are giving them.

Cartoon Art MuseumThe first of these museums is the Cartoon Art Museum. You may wonder what your children can possibly learn from a museum such as this, but as with all art, comics often imitate life and this museum shows how comics have evolved and morphed over time. In addition to that, anything that will encourage your children to read is a good thing in my opinion, even if it is comics that they are reading.

Bay Area Discovery MuseumNext, there is the Bay Area Discovery Museum. This museum offers hands on entertainment for children of all ages. While most exhibits are designed with children ages 1-10 in mind, there are plenty of activities and exhibits that will appeal to older children as well as those entertaining the notion of a second childhood. This museum offers many activities and adventures both indoors and out that will appeal to your children while teaching them about other creatures, cultures, technology, and the world at large around them. This is definitely worth having a look. Be sure to check and see if there are any events being offered while you are visiting.

If the Bay Area Discovery Museum isn’t enough to get your little one’s creative juices flowing and put you all into the supreme spirit of learning, then perhaps you should check out Zeum. Zeum is a multimedia arts and technology museum. By allowing visitors to hands on use of their equipment they are fostering imagination and igniting curiosity in the young minds of their guests. This is definitely unique enough for a closer look. I hope it spikes your inner techno guru as completely as it reached mine.

There are many more places than this that you can visit in San Francisco that offer an equal spark for the minds and imaginations of your little ones. But the fact remains that you know your child’s interests and talents better than anyone else. Find those things that will appeal to each child’s personality and that above anything else will make this trip special for him or her.

I also believe that it is important to allow your children an opinion on what to do and see while on vacation. You may be surprised to find the things that will appeal to them as well as the fact that they really do on occasion think about what you as a parent want for them. By giving choices and a voice you are teaching your children that they are important to you and that their opinion matters.

Sea Kayaking During Your Mauritius Vacation

sea-kayaking

As Mauritius is an island, nearly everything which involves its ocean is very popular amongst residents and visitors alike.  One way that you can get the most enjoyment from the Indian Ocean is by trying the sport of sea-kayaking.

If you decide to select a sea-kayaking package for your vacation, two of the most important points to keep in mind is that the sea-kayaking is limited to visitors over the age of twelve, and that the specific locations range in degree of difficulty.  For most adults who are in good health, there will probably not be any viable problems; all you need to do is choose the package which best corresponds with your abilities.

It is a good idea for you to either have or acquire a bit of knowledge about the sport of sea-kayaking before you actually try it for yourself, so you will have a better view in advance as to what you can expect, as well as being prepared for any possible difficulties which might occur.  You can decide between testing your courage and abilities or choosing a more relaxing, calm ride, depending on which you feel is the most appropriate for you.

There are many ways of gaining a deeper appreciation of Mauritius, but if excitement and adventure are high on your list of priorities, going on a sea-kayaking excursion will more than meet your expectations.  After all, you will surely agree that getting the most from your Mauritius vacation should include some degree of exploration of this lovely island’s waterways and the vast ocean which surrounds it!

There are sea-kayaking packages available around the coastal locations of Mauritius.  Their trips range from narrow waterways to shallow lagoons to the much more difficult open sea routes.  Logically, inner waterways are easier and safer, whereas kayaking directly out into the Indian Ocean will present more of a challenge and is quite appropriate for visitors who have a great thirst for daring and adventure.

When you take part in kayaking, it will give you the opportunity to view much natural beauty.  Whether it includes the fine greenery of the lagoons, or the magnificent open waters of the Indian Ocean, it is unlikely that you will ever see such splendor of nature anywhere else.

There are many fine hotels in close proximity to the sea-kayaking locations, so that you will not need to waste any time in travelling to or from the excursion’s chosen meeting spots. The packages vary between full day and half day excursions.  In addition, your sea-kayaking adventure will include a nice lunch.

Sea-kayaking will surely be the experience of a lifetime! Regardless of your degree of expertise, each available package will offer you the amazing opportunity to take part in an exhiliarating sport and see the glorious sights that can be found nowhere but Mauritius.  Whether you choose one of the breezy, calmer routes, or decide to venture out into the deep ocean waters, you are assured that you will have one of the greatest times of your life!

San Diego At A Glance

san diego

Referred to as many as being the only area in the United States with perfect weather, San Diego remains the oldest port on the West Coast.  Complete with a well known Naval Base and a high level of tourism, this breathtaking city continues to dominate the economy.

Aside from offering high mountains, deserts, and over 70 miles of the world’s most renowned beaches, San Diego also offers other great attractions such as Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, and Wild Animal Park.

For art lovers, there are many different museums and even the Shakespearean play at the Old Globe Theater. Throw in the fact that San Diego has more championship golf courses than any other area in the world, and you have a city ready for anyone’s imagination.

As a tourist city or a place to call home, San Diego is one place you should at least visit.  The night life here rivals that of Las Vegas, giving you something for everyone in the family.  Young or old - San Diego is the one city that you’ll never find boring.

Vegas for the Eternal Planner

game

Are you a gambler? Seriously, do you take your chances on everything or are you a careful planner? Do you through caution to the wind with solid faith that everything will work out in the wind or do you try to control every aspect of the environment around you. I’ve noticed that in this world there are those that seem born to gamble, to take chances and take risks and those that agonize over he slightest and smallest of decisions often second guessing themselves into oblivion and back again before ultimately deciding to do that which they truly wish to do.

There are people who are far too capricious with lady luck and those who harbor no illusions about her fickle nature. Whichever type of person you are, there is a game for you to play in Vegas. Yes, even those who don’t gamble and aren’t willing to risk a single penny can find something fun and fabulous to do and enjoy during their stay in this great city.

Vegas is beginning to transform itself from “Sin City” to a more respectable place to have and bring children. There will always be the shows that this city is so famous for but they are often tempered with afternoon magic shows, clowns, and music reviews that honor performers from innocent (and not so innocent) days gone by. Where else on earth could you see Elvis Presley walking next to Marilyn Monroe and Diana Ross? Where else on earth can you see a clown walking around almost (if not) 24 hours out of each and every day? There are so many strange and wonderful things to see and do in this city that even if you’ve never set foot inside a casino and still have no intentions of doing so, there are still many, many things you can find to keep you entertained and happy.

shopping in Vegas

In addition to the many shows, the shopping in Vegas is almost as good as it is in Milan, New York, and Paris. There are thrill rides that are decidedly not for the faint of heart and great shows and experiences to keep all members of the family happy and entertained for days to come. There are museums, state parks, and the beautiful backdrop of desert scenery. There are weddings on every corner and new beginnings at every turn. This is a city of infinite possibilities that go far beyond the doors of any casino.

If you’re not sure what you’d like to do in Vegas, my first suggestion is that you find a spa that will let you hide out from the world for your entire first day. Allow yourself to be pampered and primped and treated completely and utterly like the prince or princess you are deep down inside. Once you’ve begun to really relax and are ready to think about the many options that abound. Consider your budget and choose your activities according to your spending abilities. There are actually enough free activities in Vegas to keep you busy for at least 3 days if not 4 or more (depending on your interests and how many of the paid adventures you’d like to participate in).

Beyond that, the problem for many lies in deciding how much money to spend where and how much money you are willing to leave up to fate, lady luck, and the mad, mad whims of man.

Belmont Park In San Diego

parkLocated in sunny San Diego, the Belmont Park is one of the best amusement parks in San Diego.  With plenty for the entire family, this Park has something for everyone.  With rides for the entire family and basically everything in between, Belmont Park makes for a very
exciting adventure.

The most distinctive attraction in the Park is the Giant Dipper Roller Coaster.  The coaster was built in 1925 and has been restored over the years.  This coaster is truly one of a kind, as it offers quick drops, steep hills, and insane speed!

Belmont Park in San Diego also offers the endless wave, which is perfect for wave riders.  The Flowrider offers hourly rides, even lessons for beginners.  If waves aren’t your sort of thing, you may find the raceway bumper cars or the Chaos enticing.  Chaos resembles a ferris wheel, although it creates a random three dimensional rocking and rolling.  Anytime you get on it, no two rides are every the same!

For arcade enthusiasts, there is a family fun arcade and gamelords.  This creates the ultimate gaming experience, keeping kids, teenagers, and even adults occupied for
hours on end.

Other rides at the park include the Vertical plunge, krazy kars, and the infamous “plunge”.  The plunge is a great attraction, and actually happens to be the largest indoor
heated pool in San Diego.  Perfect for swimming, diving, and just enjoying yourself, the plunge is a blast.

To feel the sensation, the Crazy Submarine and the Trampoline can help you.  To truly test your limits, the Rock Wall will offer a unique challenge.  Anyone wanting to give it a try, can get to climbing the wall and see if they truly have what it takes to get to the top.

Once you’ve had your fill on rides, there are plenty of other entertainment and events to keep you occupied.  In Belmont Park, there is always something going on.  With San Diego being a tourist attraction, you can bet the entertainment in Belmont Park is nothing short of spectacular.

For the kids, Belmont Park offers some truly unbeatable deals on birthday parties or private parties.  If you decide to have a party here, you can pretty much rent a chunk of the park for yourself.  For kids, this can truly be an unforgettable memory.

Closed Monday - Thursday, Belmont Park is open Friday and Saturday 11 AM - 10 PM and Sunday 11 AM - 8 PM.  Although the park is closed on major holidays, you can visit on
the weekends and enjoy the best in entertainment.

To round out your fun, make sure you do a little shopping and take in some of the food.  Belmont Park in San Diego has great food and shopping, giving you more than a few
reasons to visit the park and be amazed - truly amazed.

disneylandHuntington Beach is also within short traveling distance to many of Southern California’s most popular attractions and sights.  Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, Wild Rivers Waterpark, and the Aquarium of the Pacific are all less than 20 miles away from Huntington Beach.  After a fun day of exploring and riding rides, the beach is an ideal place to return to.
